The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit

Prayer video – Prayer to the Most Holy Trinity

To God the Father

Heavenly Father, Author of all creation, we praise You for Your boundless love and mercy. You are the source of all goodness; the giver of life. You formed us in Your image and guide us with providence.

We thank You for the gift of Your Son, Jesus Christ, through whom You revealed Your loving plan of salvation. By His life, death, and resurrection, we are reconciled to You. You have adopted us as Your beloved children and made us heirs to Your Kingdom.

May we cherish our identity as Your sons and daughters, living lives that radiate Your love to everyone whom we meet. We entrust ourselves to Your unfailing care. We desire that Your will be done in our lives, now and forever.

We ask this through Your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, Who lives and reigns with You in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, forever and ever. Amen.

To Jesus, Son of God

O Jesus, Eternal Son of the Father, We adore You as our Savior, Lord, and Brother. You, the Word made flesh, revealed the Father’s love. You offered Yourself as a sacrifice for our salvation.

Your Sacred Heart, pierced for our transgressions, pours out mercy, compassion, and unfathomable love. You nourish us in the Eucharist, strengthening our faith. As our Risen Lord, You intercede for us constantly.

Help us to follow in Your footsteps and embrace the Cross. Transform us into Your likeness, so that we may radiate Your goodness. Be our strength, solace, and joy, and sustain us with Your grace until we behold You face to face in Your heavenly Kingdom.

We ask this in Your most holy name, You who live and reign with the Father and the Holy Spirit, God, forever and ever. Amen.

To the Holy Spirit

O Holy Spirit, Lord and Giver of Life, we praise You, the eternal Love between the Father and the Son. You bring life, inspire prophets, and guide the Church. You empower us with Your gifts and unify all in love.

We thank You for the new life in Baptism, which makes us Your temples. Sanctify us, Holy Spirit, conform us to Christ, and lead us to divine love. Kindle in us the fire of Your love and the zeal for Your Kingdom. Guide our minds, strengthen our wills, and direct our actions.

Renew the earth, and bring healing, comfort, and hope to all. Convict us of sin, and lead us to repentance and conversion. Guide the Church, and inspire our leaders with courage and compassion. Grant us unity, humility, and openness to Your promptings.

We consecrate ourselves to You, Holy Spirit: our hearts, minds, and bodies. May we be attentive to Your voice and responsive to Your call.

We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Consecration to the Holy Spirit

The Consecration to the Holy Spirit” is a profound act of self-offering and dedication to the Holy Spirit. The prayer expresses adoration for the divine attributes of the Holy Spirit, acknowledging Him as the source of strength, light, and life for the soul. It seeks the grace to remain faithful to the Holy Spirit, to be attentive to His voice, and to follow His inspirations, while imploring His compassion and protection against sin. The prayer also invokes the Passion of Christ as a means of clinging to the Holy Spirit and concludes with a petition for the grace to always be open and responsive to the Holy Spirit’s prompting.

Consecration to the Holy Spirit

Before the multitude of heavenly witnesses, I offer myself, soul and body, to You, eternal Spirit of God. I adore the brightness of Your purity, the unerring keenness of Your justice, and the power of Your love. You are the strength and light of my soul, in You I live and move and have my being.

I desire never to grieve You by infidelity to Your grace, and I pray wholeheartedly to be preserved from the slightest sin against You. Make me faithful in my every thought, and grant that I may always listen to Your voice, watch for Your light, and follow Your gracious inspirations. I cling to You and beg You, in Your compassion, to watch over me in my weakness.

Holding the pierced feet of Jesus, gazing at His five wounds, trusting to His Precious Blood, and adoring His open side and stricken Heart, I implore You, adorable Spirit, so to keep me in Your grace that I may never sin against You.

Grant me the grace, O Holy Spirit of the Father and the Son,
to say to You always and everywhere: “Speak, Lord, for Your servant is listening.” Amen.

Veni Creator (Come, O Creator Spirit Blest!)

Prayer Video –Veni Creator / Come, O Creator Spirit Blest!

Come, O Creator Spirit blest,
And in our souls take up Thy rest,
Come with Thy grace and Heavenly aid,
To fill the hearts which Thou hast made.

Great Paraclete! To Thee we cry,
O highest gift of God most high!
O fount of life! O fire of love!
And sweet anointing from above.

Thou in Thy sevenfold gifts art known,
The finger of God’s hand we own;
The promise of the Father, Thou!
Who dost the tongue with power endow.

Kindle our senses from above,
And make our hearts o’erflow with love;
With patience firm and virtue high,
The weakness of our flesh supply.

Far from us drive the foe we dread,
And grant us Thy true peace instead;
So shall we not, with Thee for guide,
Turn from the path of life aside.

Oh, may Thy grace on us bestow
The Father and the Son to know,
And Thee through endless times confessed
Of both the Eternal Spirit blest.

All glory while the ages run
Be to the Father and the Son
Who rose from death; the same to Thee,
O Holy Ghost, eternally. Amen.

(On the first bead) – The Sign of the Cross
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

(On the second bead) – Act of Contrition
O my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended Thee.  I detest all my sins because I dread the loss of Heaven and all the pains of hell, but most of all because they offend You, my God, Who are all good and deserving of all my love.  I firmly resolve, with the help of Your grace, to sin no more and to avoid the near occasions of sin. Amen.

(On the third bead) – Come Holy Ghost
Come, Holy Spirit, fill my heart with Your holy gifts.  Let my weakness be penetrated with Your strength this very day that I may fulfill all the duties of my state conscientiously, that I may do what is right and just.

Let my charity be such as to offend no one, and hurt no one’s feelings; so generous as to pardon sincerely any wrong done to me.  Assist me, O Holy Spirit, in all my trials of life, enlighten me in my ignorance, advise me in my doubts, strengthen me in my weakness, help me in all my needs, protect me in temptations and console me in afflictions.

Graciously hear me, O Holy Spirit, and pour Your light into my heart, my soul, and my mind. Assist me to live a holy life and to grow in goodness and grace. Amen.

[While praying each set of seven beads, meditate on one of the five mysteries (see below)]

Main Chaplet Prayers
On each set of two large beads, pray…
Our Fatheron the first bead.
Hail Maryon the second bead.

On each small between the large beads, pray…
Glory Be

1st Mystery
By the Holy Ghost is Jesus conceived of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

The Meditation:  “…The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will cover you with its shadow. And so the child will be holy and will be called Son of God.” (Luke 1:35)

The Practice:  Diligently implore the aid of the Divine Spirit and Mary’s intercession to imitate the virtues of Jesus Christ, Who is the Model of virtues, so that you may be made conformable to the image of the Son of God.

2nd Mystery
The Spirit of the Lord rested upon Jesus when he was baptized.

The Meditation:  “And when Jesus had been baptized he at once came up from the water, and suddenly the heavens opened and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming down on Him.” (Matthew 3:16)

The Practice:  Hold in the highest esteem the priceless gift of sanctifying grace, infused into your soul by the Holy Spirit in baptism.  Keep the promises to which you then pledged yourself.  Increase, by constant practice, Faith, Hope, and Charity.  Ever live and become children of God and members of God’s true Church, so as to obtain, hereafter, the inheritance of Heaven.

3rd Mystery
By the Spirit is Jesus led into the desert to be tempted by the devil.

The Meditation:  “Filled with the Holy Spirit, Jesus left the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the desert for forty days being put to the test by the devil.” (Luke 4:1-2)

The Practice:  Be ever grateful for the seven-fold gift of the Holy Ghost bestowed upon you in confirmation, for the spirit of wisdom and understanding, of counsel and fortitude, of knowledge and piety, and of the fear of the Lord. Faithfully yield to His Divine guidance, so that, in all the trials and temptations of life, you may act manfully, and become a perfect Christian and valiant soldier of Jesus Christ.

4th Mystery
The Holy Spirit in the Church.

The Meditation:  “…suddenly there came from Heaven a sound as of a violent wind which filled the entire house in which they were sitting…They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak different languages as the Spirit gave them power to express themselves.” (Acts 2:2, 4)

The Practice:  Thank God for having made you a child of His Church which is ever animated and directed by the Divine Spirit, sent into this world for that purpose of the day of Pentecost.  Hear and obey the Holy See, the infallible mouthpiece of the Holy Ghost, and the Church, the pillar and ground of truth.  Uphold her doctrines, seek her interests, defend her rights.

5th Mystery
The Holy Spirit in the soul of the just man and just woman.

The Meditation:  “Do you not realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you and whom you received from God?” (1 Corinthians 6:19) “Do not stifle the Spirit.” (1 Thessalonians 5:19) and “do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God who has marked you with his seal, ready for the day when we shall be set free.” (Ephesians 4:30)

The Practice:  Be ever mindful of the Holy Spirit Who is within you, and carefully cultivate purity of soul and body.  Faithfully obey His Divine inspirations so that you may bring forth the fruits of the Spirit – Charity, Joy, Peace, Patience, Dignity, Goodness, Long-suffering, Mildness, Faith, Modesty, Continency, Chastity.

Closing Prayers
The Apostles’ Creed
I believe in God the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and Earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried.  He descended into hell.  The third day He rose again from the dead.  He ascended into Heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty.  From there He shall come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and life everlasting.  Amen.

For the intentions of the Sovereign Pontiff, pray one time…
Our Father…
Hail Mary…
Glory Be…
