An Urgent Prayer for World Peace (2026)

“An Urgent Prayer For World Peace (2026)” is a prayer for peace amid the war engulfing the Middle East, involving the United States, Iran, and Israel, as well as the many other wars and conflicts affecting nations around the world.

This urgent prayer for peace implores God the Father, through the Most Precious Blood of His Son, to move the hearts of world leaders away from war and toward reason, mercy, and reconciliation. We call upon Our Lady, Queen of Peace, Saint Michael the Archangel, and all the saints to intercede for the innocent, the suffering, and the fearful in Iran, Israel, the United States, and every nation caught in the reach of this conflict.

An Urgent Prayer for World Peace

Lord God, Father of all nations and Author of peace, we come before You with heavy and sorrowful hearts.

Almighty Father, You who calmed the raging sea with a single word from Your Son — speak now into this storm of conflict and unrest.

We pray for the people of Iran, for Israel, for the United States, and for every nation — that hatred may give way to humanity, and that vengeance may yield to wisdom.

Blessed Virgin Mary, Queen of Peace, you who stood at the foot of the Cross and witnessed the cost of violence upon your own Son — intercede for us now. Cover the nations with your mantle. Protect the innocent. Protect those who are defending the lives of others. Comfort the grieving. And obtain from your Son the peace that this world cannot give itself.

St. Michael the Archangel, defend all people in the hour of battle. Guard the innocent from harm.

Lord Jesus, You said: “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God.” Raise up peacemakers in every nation. Lord, grant us peace. Not as the world gives — but as only You can give. We ask this through Christ our Lord, who is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Amen.

Our Lady, Queen of Peace — pray for us.
St. Francis of Assisi — pray for us.
St. Michael the Archangel — pray for us.

The Serenity Prayer

The Serenity Prayer

The Serenity Prayer is a well-known prayer that encourages focus on what is within a person’s control and to let go of worries and anxieties about things that cannot be changed, ultimately fostering a sense of inner peace and trust in God’s plan.

Prayer Video –The Serenity Prayer

God, grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change,
the courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time,
enjoying one moment at a time;
accepting hardships as a pathway to peace;
taking, as He did,
this sinful world as it is,
not as I would have it;
trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His will;
so that I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him forever in the next.
Amen.

Prayers for Peace in the World

This Prayers for Peace in the World devotion consists of three prayers composed by St. John Paul II imploring the blessing of God for peace to come into the hearts of all.

Prayers for Peace in the World

Prayer Video – Prayers for Peace in the World

O God, Creator of the universe, Who extends Your paternal concern over every creature, and guides the events of history to the goal of salvation, we acknowledge Your Fatherly love when You break the resistance of mankind, and in a world torn by strife and discord, You make us ready for reconciliation.

Renew for us the wonders of Your mercy. Send forth Your Spirit; that He may work in the intimacy of hearts; that enemies may begin to dialogue; that adversaries may shake hands; and people may encounter one another in harmony.

May all commit themselves to the sincere search: for true peace, which will extinguish all arguments, for charity, which overcomes hatred, for pardon which disarms revenge. For this we pray in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Lord Jesus Christ, Who is called the Prince of Peace, Who is Yourself our peace and reconciliation, Who so often said, “Peace to you,” grant us peace.

Make all men and women witnesses of truth, justice, and brotherly love. Banish from our hearts whatever might endanger peace. Enlighten our rulers that they may guarantee and defend the great gift of peace. May all people on the earth become as brothers and sisters. May longed-for-peace blossom forth… and reign always over us all. Amen.

Oh, Immaculate Heart!  Help us to conquer the menace of evil, which so easily takes root in the hearts of the people of today, and whose immeasurable effects already weigh down upon our modern world and seem to block the paths towards the future!

From famine and war, deliver us.
From nuclear war, from incalculable self-destruction, from every kind of war, deliver us.
From sins against the life of man from its very beginning, deliver us.
From hatred and from the demeaning of the dignity of the children of God, deliver us.
From every kind of injustice in the life of society, both national and international, deliver us.
From readiness to trample on the commandments of God, deliver us.
From sins against the Holy Spirit, deliver us.

Accept, O Mother of Christ, this cry laden with the sufferings of all individual human beings, laden with the sufferings of whole societies. Let there be revealed once more in the history of the world the infinite power of merciful Love. May it put a stop to evil. May it transform consciences. May your Immaculate Heart reveal for all the light of hope! Amen.

Prayer of Trust in God’s Will

The “Prayer of Trust in God’s Will” was composed by Dietrich Bonhoeffer in a Nazi prison while awaiting his execution.

Prayer Video – Prayer of Trust in God’s Will

O God, early in the morning I cry to You.
Help me to pray and to concentrate my thoughts on You;
I cannot do this alone.
In me there is darkness, but with You there is light.
I am lonely, but You do not leave me.
I am feeble in heart, but with You there is help.
I am restless, but with You there is peace.
In me there is bitterness, but with You there is patience.
I do not understand your ways, but You know the way for me.
Restore me to liberty and enable me so to live now
that I may answer before You and before me.
Lord, whatever this day may bring, Your name be praised.

Prayer of St. Francis

The “Prayer of St. Francis” is a beautiful petition asking God to make us instruments of His peace, love, and compassion in a world filled with hatred, injury, doubt, despair, darkness, and sadness, so that through our actions of selfless giving, understanding, and forgiveness, we may find true consolation, understanding, love, and eternal life.

Prayer video – Prayer of St. Francis

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace:
where there is hated, let me sow love;
where there in injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy.
O divine Master, grants that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console,
to be understood as to understand,
to be loved as to love,
For it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

A Prayer for the People of Israel and Gaza

The Prayer for the People of Israel and Gaza is an urgent prayer for for the victims of the brutal attack against the people of Israel by Hamas and for the innocent civilians on both sides (Israel and Gaza) who are directly affected by the war against Hamas.

A Prayer for the People of Israel and Gaza

Prayer Video – A Prayer for the People of Israel and Gaza

God of Peace, we cry out to You amidst the turmoil engulfing in the Holy Land. Just as you stilled the storm at sea, we ask you now to bring stillness to the winds of war. With faith we pray, let there be peace in Israel and Gaza.
We pray to the Lord… Lord, hear our prayer.

We mourn the dead and plead for the violence to cease. Let no more lives be lost on either side. Bring healing to the injured and free those held captive. Protect the innocent and powerless.
We pray to the Lord… Lord, hear our prayer.

Provide comfort for those who grieve and are displaced. Reunite separated families. Give wisdom to leaders to find nonviolent solutions. Supply aid to rebuild and restore.
We pray to the Lord… Lord, hear our prayer.

We pray for those assisting to the injured and displaced, putting themselves in harms way as they perform works of mercy to those most directly impacted from this violence. May their love-in-action inspire reconciliation. Make us all instruments of your peace.
We pray to the Lord… Lord, hear our prayer.

May our Holy Mother Mary, the Queen of Peace, intercede for the land blessed by her earthly life. May her prayers for your children, Lord, help guide them to peace, harmony, and justice.
We pray to the Lord… Lord, hear our prayer.

Lord Jesus, we trust in your mercy. Still the storms within hearts to bring calm. We lift our prayers to you, the Prince of Peace, who alone can grant lasting peace. Amen.

A Prayer for Peace in Our Time

A Prayer for Peace in Our Timeis a heartfelt plea to God for peace in a world torn apart by violence and conflict. It invokes God’s wisdom, grace, and compassion to guide world leaders, convert those who have taken up arms, protect the innocent victims of war, and grant eternal life to those who have died. The prayer ends with an appeal to Mary, the Mother of Jesus, to intercede for peace.

A Prayer for Peace in Our Time

O God, author and giver of peace, in whose image and likeness each of us has been created with a human dignity worthy of respect on earth and destined for eternal glory, listen to the cry that rises from every corner of this fragile earth, from our human family torn by violent conflict.

Give peace in our time, O good and gracious God, that peace which, as your son Jesus Christ told us and as we have experienced in these days, is a peace which the world cannot give.

To world leaders grant the wisdom to see beyond the boundaries of race, religion, and nation to that common humanity that makes us all your children and brothers and sisters to one another.

To those who have taken up arms in anger or revenge or even in the cause of justice grant the grace of conversion to the path of peaceful dialogue and constructive collaboration.

To the innocent who live in the shadow of war and terror, especially the frightened children, be a shelter and strength, their haven and hope.

And to those who have already lost their lives as victims of human cruelty and chemical warfare, open wide your arms and enfold them all in the embrace of your compassion, healing, and everlasting life.

Grant this through Jesus Christ, your Son, our Lord.

Mary, Mother of all and Queen of peace, pray for us.

A Prayer For Inner Peace

A Prayer For Inner Peace is a plea for God to bring rest and tranquility to the inner conflict one is battling.

A Prayer For Inner Peace

Lord, please put Your peace in my heart.
I’m worried and anxious.
My mind races and obsesses.
I can’t help thinking about my problems.
And the more I think about them,
the more depressed I become.
I feel like I’m sinking down in quicksand
and can’t get out.
Calm me, Lord.
Slow me down, put Your peace in my heart.

No matter what problem I have, Lord,
You are bigger,
You are more powerful than it is.
So I bring my problem to You.
I know what I want.
I know my will.
I do not know Yours.
I do not know how You will use this problem for my salvation.
I do not know what good You will workout from this evil.
But I trust You.
I trust Your goodness and Your wisdom.
So I place myself in Your hands.
Please fill my heart with peace.

Novena to Our Lady Queen of Peace

The Novena to Our Lady Queen of Peace – The title “Queen of Peace” is given to Mary because she is the mother of Jesus, the “Prince of Peace,” who reconciled Heaven and Earth. Mary stood at the foot of the cross, where Christ merited peace for the whole world, and she continues to intercede with her Son to obtain for us the spirit of love, unity, and reconciliation. In 1917, during the turmoil of World War I, Pope Benedict XV added the invocation “Queen of Peace” to the Litany of Loreto. Our Lady is often depicted under this title holding the Child Jesus on her lap while bearing an olive branch, a symbol of peace.

Through this novena to Our Lady Queen of Peace, we ask Our Lady to intercede for peace in our hearts, in our families, in our communities, and throughout the world.

Holy Virgin, venerable Queen of Peace, obtain for me of your Son the peace which He has left as a heritage to His disciples. The world knows it not and cannot give it; it resides only in hearts pure and sanctified by grace. May I preserve this heavenly peace with my superiors by submission and respect; with my equals by meekness; with my inferiors by patience and kindness; with God, and with myself by the practice of all virtues. Grant it also to the Church, to my family, to my friends, and to all humankind. Obtain for me the grace to live here on earth in the peace of innocence in order to merit the eternal peace of Heaven. Amen.

Let us pray.

Day 4:   [Click for Day 4 of Novena Video]
O great Queen of Peace, it is through the love of your blessed Heart that the God of love and peace was given to humankind; it is through you that all schisms and heresies which divide the true fold of your beloved Son are suppressed; it is through you that peace fills the hearts of people of good will—those who renounce themselves to live according to the law of God. Oh, make this sweet  peace reign in the Church of Christ and in our souls! Amen.

Let us pray.

Glorious and incomparable Virgin, Queen of Peace and Mother of Mercy, present us to your Son, the “Prince of Peace” and our most amiable Redeemer, and obtain through your powerful intercession that He may grant us in this life, not only relief in our afflictions, but also a universal peace; and after this life, the eternal peace of Heaven. Amen.

Let us pray.

Day 6:   [Click for Day 6 of Novena Video]
O glorious Mother of the great Prince of Peace, of Him Who came down from Heaven to bring peace to the world, obtain for us through your intercession, a universal peace. Day 7:   [Click for Day 7 of Novena Video]
How much praise do we not owe you, O Mary! Through you the barrier between Heaven and earth has been removed; through your admirable maternity, O glorious Queen, more resplendent than the stars, you have revoked the curse which has weighed upon us since the fall of Eve. Hail, then, O Virgin, cause of our joy; hail, Queen, who obtained peace! Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with you, He Who is before you, and with you. To Him, with the Father and the Holy Spirit, be praise now and forever. Amen.

Let us pray.

Day 8:   [Click for Day 8 of Novena Video]
We rejoice with you, O Mary, on account of all your virtues, but we rejoice especially because of your mercy, since it is through mercy that you are for us the Queen of Peace. Truly, your mercy has obtained the redemption of the world and the salvation of humankind. May our longing souls, therefore, hasten to this salutary source, and may our misery appeal to your inexhaustible mercy! Amen.

Let us pray.

Day 9:   [Click for Day 9 of Novena Video]
Most holy Virgin Mary, venerable Queen of Peace, full of confidence in your goodness, and animated with a lively desire to serve you, we consecrate ourselves to you now and forever, and we promise to do all in our power to make you known, loved, and honored. Deign to receive us among your privileged children; deign to watch over us and to protect us. Obtain, we beseech you, for Holy Mother Church, for our country, for us and those dear to us, that great gift of peace which your Divine Son appointed you to dispense to the world. Amen.

Let us pray.

Ave Augustissima (Hail Most Venerable)
Hail, you that are most Venerable, Queen of Peace, most holy Mother of God; through the Sacred Heart of Jesus your Son, the Prince of Peace, cause His anger to cease from us, so that He may reign over us in peace. Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who sought your prayers was forsaken by God. Inspired with this confidence, I come unto you. Despise not my petitions, O Mother of the Incarnate Word; but in your loving kindness hear and answer me, O merciful, O kind, O sweet Virgin Mary.

Our Father prayer (3 times)
Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.  Amen.

Hail Mary prayer (3 times)
Hail, Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Mary, Queen of Peace, pray for us.
Mary, Queen of Peace, pray for us.
