The Prayer of Abandonment is a profound act of total surrender to God the Father โ not in resignation or defeat, but in the deep, confident trust of a child resting in a father’s hands. It moves through three quiet movements: a willing acceptance of whatever God may do, a commending of the soul into His care, and finally an offering of the heart itself, given freely and without reserve. At its center is a single, radical desire โ that God’s will alone be done โ and every word flows from that desire with a simplicity that makes the prayer both accessible and inexhaustibly deep.
This prayer was composed by St. Charles de Foucauld, a French soldier turned hermit, martyr of the desert, who lived among the Tuareg people of the Algerian Sahara and was canonized by Pope Francis in 2022.
Father, I abandon myself into Your hands; do with me what You will. Whatever You may do, I thank You: I am ready for all, I accept all.
Let only Your will be done in me, and in all Your creatures. I wish no more than this, O Lord.
Into Your hands I commend my soul; I offer it to You with all the love of my heart, for I love You, Lord, and so need to give myself, to surrender myself, into Your hands without reserve, and with boundless confidence, for You are my Father. Amen.

“A Student’s Prayer” is a fervent appeal to God for wisdom and clarity in learning, penned by the influential 13th-century theologian St. Thomas Aquinas. It calls upon the Holy Spirit to illuminate the mind, enhance memory, and improve expression. Recognizing God as the wellspring of all knowledge, it seeks His guidance throughout the learning process. The prayer speaks to students and scholars across generations, highlighting the spiritual dimension of intellectual growth and the importance of God’s grace in academic pursuits.
Come, Holy Spirit, Divine Creator, true source of light and fountain of wisdom! Pour forth your brilliance upon my dense intellect, dissipate the darkness which covers me, that of sin and of ignorance. Grant me a penetrating mind to understand, a retentive memory, method and ease in learning, the lucidity to comprehend, and abundant grace in expressing myself. Guide the beginning of my work, direct its progress, and bring it to successful completion. This I ask through Jesus Christ, true God and true man, living and reigning with You and the Father, forever and ever. Amen.

The “Prayer to Our Lady, Help of Christians” is a Catholic Marian prayer composed by St. John Bosco invoking the intercession and aid of the Virgin Mary under her title “Help of Christians.” The prayer seeks Mary’s protection and assistance for the Church and all Christians in times of difficulty, persecution or need. It calls upon her powerful intercession as a caring mother to help, console and guide believers, and to safeguard the faith and well-being of the Christian community.
Most Holy Virgin Mary, Help of Christians, how sweet it is to come to your feet imploring your perpetual help. If earthly mothers cease not to remember their children, how can you, the most loving of all mothers, forget me? Grant then to me, I implore you, your perpetual help in all my necessities, in every sorrow, and especially in all my temptations. I ask for your unceasing help for all who are now suffering. Help the weak, cure the sick, convert sinners. Grant through your intercession many vocations to the religious life. Obtain for me, O Mary, Help of Christians, that having invoked you here on earth, I may love and eternally thank you in Heaven. Amen.
Prayers for the Unborn and their mothers facing unplanned or difficult pregnancies. Through two powerful prayers, we seek God’s protection, grace, and guidance for all those affected, and intercede for a renewed culture of life where every child is cherished as a precious gift from conception onward.
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of love for the precious gift of life. We pray for all unborn children, that they may be protected and cherished from the very moment of their conception.
Lord, we know that every life is valuable in Your eyes, knit together by Your loving hands in the mother’s womb. We pray that all mothers facing difficulties and challenges with their pregnancies may be filled with Your strength, courage, and grace. May they be surrounded by love and support, and may they choose life for their babies.
We pray for a renewed culture of life in our society, where every child is welcomed and cared for as a miraculous creation. Help us to build a world where pregnancy termination is unthinkable, and where all life is treated with the dignity it deserves.
Give us the wisdom and compassion to reach out to those who are hurting after having terminated their pregnancy, offering them Your healing love and mercy. May they find peace and forgiveness in Your endless grace. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son, who lives and reigns with You in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.
Holy Mary, Mother of mercy, we come to you pleading for the littlest and most vulnerable among us – the unborn. Intercede for all children whose lives are threatened before birth. Wrap them in your mantle of protection, and guide their mothers to choose life and love.
Pray for women facing the anguish of unplanned pregnancy. Fill their hearts with courage and hope, that they may say โyesโ to the new life within them, just as you did. May your tears of sorrow soften hearts, and awaken our world to the precious gift of human life. Amen.

To thee to we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears.
