We honor you, St. Peregrine, as a mighty wonder worker, because of the miracles obtained through your intercession for persons who had recourse to your kind and powerful prayers.  For many years, you were afflicted with the same cancerous disease from which thousands now suffer.  When the power of man could do no more, you were favored with a vision of Jesus leaning down from His cross and touching and healing you.

Prayer to St. Monica

This “Prayer to St. Monica”, mother of St. Augustine, seeks her intercession for all mothers to draw their children closer to God, even those who have gone astray. They request St. Monica’s intercession for their own intentions and the grace to accept God’s will in all things.

Prayer to St. Monica

Patroness of Wayward Children & Difficult Marriages

Prayer Video –Prayer to St. Monica

Exemplary Mother of the Great Augustine, you perseveringly pursued your wayward son, not with threats, but with prayerful cries to heaven. Intercede for all mothers in our day so that they may learn to draw their children to God. Teach them how to remain close to their children, even the prodigal sons and daughters who have sadly gone astray.

Dear St Monica, troubled wife and mother, many sorrows pierced your heart during your lifetime, yet you never despaired or lost faith. With confidence, persistence, and profound faith, you prayed daily for the conversion of your beloved husband, Patricius, and your beloved son, Augustine; your prayers were answered.

Grant me that same fortitude, patience, and trust in the Lord. Intercede for me, dear St. Monica, that God may favorably hear my plea.

Grant me the grace to accept His Will in all things, through Jesus Christ, our Lord, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.

Our Father
Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.  Amen.

Hail Mary
Hail, Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Glory Be
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Saint Monica, pray for us.

Prayer to St. Michael the Archangel (long version)

Prayer to St Michael The Archangel (Long Version) | Pope Leo XIII, after mass one day, experienced a vision of the evil spirits attacking and seeking to the destroy the Church. In the midst of the attack was St. Michael the Archangel battling with the evil spirits, casting Satan and his legions into the abyss of Hell. This prayer, the original and longer version of the Prayer to St Michael the Archangel, was composed by Pope Leo XII in response to the vision; calling upon St Michael to defend the Church and its people.

Prayer to St. Michael the Archangel

(long version)

Prayer Video – Prayer to St. Michael the Archangel (long version)

O Glorious Prince of the heavenly host, St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in the battle and in the terrible warfare that we are waging against the principalities and powers, against the rulers of this world of darkness, against the evil spirits. Come to the aid of man, whom Almighty God created immortal, made in His own image and likeness, and redeemed at a great price from the tyranny of Satan.

Fight this day the battle of the Lord, together with the holy angels, as already thou hast fought the leader of the proud angels, Lucifer, and his apostate host, who were powerless to resist thee, nor was there place for them any longer in Heaven. That cruel, ancient serpent, who is called the devil or Satan who seduces the whole world, was cast into the abyss with his angels. Behold, this primeval enemy and slayer of men has taken courage. Transformed into an angel of light, he wanders about with all the multitude of wicked spirits, invading the earth in order to blot out the name of God and of His Christ, to seize upon, slay and cast into eternal perdition souls destined for the crown of eternal glory. This wicked dragon pours out, as a most impure flood, the venom of his malice on men of depraved mind and corrupt heart, the spirit of lying, of impiety, of blasphemy, and the pestilent breath of impurity, and of every vice and iniquity.

These most crafty enemies have filled and inebriated with gall and bitterness the Church, the spouse of the immaculate Lamb, and have laid impious hands on her most sacred possessions. In the Holy Place itself, where the See of Holy Peter and the Chair of Truth has been set up as the light of the world, they have raised the throne of their abominable impiety, with the iniquitous design that when the Pastor has been struck, the sheep may be scattered.

Arise then, O invincible Prince, bring help against the attacks of the lost spirits to the people of God, and give them the victory. They venerate thee as their protector and patron; in thee holy Church glories as her defense against the malicious power of hell; to thee has God entrusted the souls of men to be established in heavenly beatitude. Oh, pray to the God of peace that He may put Satan under our feet, so far conquered that he may no longer be able to hold men in captivity and harm the Church. Offer our prayers in the sight of the Most High, so that they may quickly find mercy in the sight of the Lord; and vanquishing the dragon, the ancient serpent, who is the devil and Satan, do thou again make him captive in the abyss, that he may no longer seduce the nations. Amen.

V. Behold the Cross of the Lord; be scattered ye hostile powers.
R. The Lion of the tribe of Judah has conquered, the root of David.
V. Let Thy mercies be upon us, O Lord.
R. As we have hoped in Thee.
V. O Lord, hear my prayer.
R. And let my cry come unto Thee.

Let us pray. O God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, we call upon Thy holy Name, and as supplicants, we implore Thy clemency, that by the intercession of Mary, ever Virgin Immaculate and our Mother, and of the glorious St. Michael the Archangel, Thou wouldst deign to help us against Satan and all the other unclean spirits who wander about the world for the injury of the human race and the ruin of souls. Amen.

Saint Lucy,
whose beautiful name signifies ‘LIGHT’,
by the light of faith which God bestowed upon you,
increase and preserve His light in our souls,
so that we may avoid evil,
be zealous in the performance of good works,
and abhor nothing so much as the blindness and
the darkness of evil and sin.

Obtain for us, by your intercession with God,
perfect vision for our bodily eyes
and the grace to use them for God’s greater honor and glory
and the salvation of souls.
St. Lucy, virgin and martyr
hear our prayers and obtain our petitions.
Amen.

This “Prayer to St. John the Baptist”, the greatest prophet born of woman, highlights the saint’s sanctity, innocence, and devotion to penance and austerity in the wilderness. Prayer to St. John the Baptist

Prayer Video – Prayer to St. John the Baptist

O glorious Saint John the Baptist, greatest prophet among those born of woman, although thou wast sanctified in thy mother’s womb and didst lead a most innocent life, nevertheless it was thy will to retire into the wilderness, there to devote thyself to the practice of austerity and penance; obtain for us of thy Lord the grace to be wholly detached, at least in our hearts, from earthly goods, and to practice Christian mortification with interior recollection and with the spirit of holy prayer.

Our Father…

Hail Mary…

Glory be to the Father…

O most zealous Apostle, who, without working any miracle on others, but solely by the example of thy life of penance and the power of thy word, didst draw after thee the multitudes, in order to dispose them to receive the Messias worthily and to listen to His heavenly doctrine; grant that it may be given unto us, by means of thy example of a holy life and the exercise of every good work, to bring many souls to God, but above all those souls that are enveloped in the darkness of error and ignorance and are led astray by vice.

Our Father…

Hail Mary…

Glory be to the Father…

O Martyr invincible, who, for the honor of God and the salvation of souls didst with firmness and constancy withstand the impiety of Herod even at the cost of thine own life, and didst rebuke him openly for his wicked and dissolute life; by thy prayers obtain for us a heart, brave and generous, in order that we may overcome all human respect and openly profess our faith in loyal obedience to the teachings of Jesus Christ, our divine Master.

Our Father…

Hail Mary…

Glory be to the Father…

V. Pray for us, Saint John the Baptist
R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Let us pray.
O God, who hast made this day to be honorable in our eyes by the commemoration of blessed John the Baptist, grant unto Thy people the grace of spiritual joy, and direct the minds of all Thy faithful into the way of everlasting salvation. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Prayer to St. Benedict for a Happy Death

The Prayer to St. Benedict for a Happy Death should be prayed daily, as the prayer itself states. Placing ourselves under the protection of St Benedict is yet another spiritual armor a devout Catholic can out on for protection against spiritual attacks. It is at the hour of death when Satan and his angels most especially attack devout souls as it is Hell’s last chance to steal these souls away from God. Saint Benedict, being the patron saint of exorcisms, is a powerful defender against the Devil.

Prayer to St. Benedict for a Happy Death

Prayer Video – Prayer to St. Benedict for a Happy Death

V. Intercede for us, O holy Father Benedict.
R. And obtain for us the grace of a happy death.

O holy Father Benedict, whose very name signifies your blessedness, you most joyfully offered your angelic soul to God while you stood in prayer with your arms raised to heaven.

You have promised to defend us from the Devil’s attacks at the hour of death if we daily recall to you your own glorious death and heavenly joys.

Protect me, therefore, O glorious Father, today and every day by your holy blessing, so that I may never be separated from our blessed Jesus, nor from the company of you and all the saints. Amen.

O God, who adorned the precious death of our most holy Father, Saint Benedict, with so many and so great privileges, grant, we beseech You, that our departure hence, we may be defended from the snares of the enemy by the blessed presence of him whose memory we celebrate. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Prayer to St. Anthony for Lost Items

This “Prayer to Saint Anthony for Lost Items” is a heartfelt plea for his intercession in finding what has been lost, both materially and spiritually. In this prayer, we ask for the restoration of lost items and, more importantly, for the return of peace and tranquility of mind, which are considered even more valuable than material possessions. The prayer also seeks St. Anthony’s help in always remaining in possession of the true good, which is God, and expresses the desire to never lose the greatest treasure of eternal life with Him. We acknowledge that losing God would be a far greater loss than losing all material things. The prayer concludes by invoking St. Anthony as a helper in all necessities.

Prayer Video – Prayer to St. Anthony for Lost Items

St. Anthony, perfect imitator of Jesus, who received from God the special power of restoring lost things, grant that I may find  what has been lost.

At least restore to me peace and tranquility of mind, the loss of which has afflicted me even more than my material loss. To this favor, I ask another of you: that I may always remain in possession of the true good that is God. Let me rather lose all things than lose God, my supreme good. Let me never suffer the loss of my greatest treasure, eternal life with God. Amen.

St. Anthony, helper in all necessities, pray for us.

Prayer for the Release of 1000 Souls from Purgatory

The Prayer for the Release of 1000 Souls from Purgatory is based on a promise made by Jesus to St. Gertrude for each time the prayer is prayed.

St Gertrude the Great was a 13th century Benedictine nun who had a deep mystical prayer life. She reported having numerous visions of Jesus Christ and the saints during her life. One of her most celebrated visions involved Jesus appearing to Gertrude and making a special promise regarding the release of souls from purgatory.

In this vision, Jesus told St Gertrude that each time a person recited the prayer, He would release the souls. This promise was said to be applicable every day, even if the prayer was repeated multiple times on the same day.

This vision from Jesus gave St Gertrude and subsequent Catholics great encouragement to pray frequently for the souls in purgatory. The promise of quantifiable relief for the suffering souls in purgatory through prayer motivated St Gertrude and many other Catholics to pray often for their benefit. This vision and promise continue to inspire Catholics to pray diligently for the holy souls in purgatory centuries after St Gertrude’s lifetime.

Prayer Video –Prayer for the Release of 1000 Souls from Purgatory

Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the masses said throughout the world today, for all the holy souls in Purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners within the universal Church, those in my own home, and within my family. Amen.
