Prayer Before The Rosary

This “Prayer Before the Rosary” is a Catholic devotional invocation typically recited before praying the Rosary. It references the apparitions of the Virgin Mary at Fatima, Portugal, in 1917, where she appeared to three young shepherds. The prayer asks for Mary’s inspiration to love the Rosary devotion and to meditate on the Mysteries of Redemption. It also seeks her intercession for world peace, the conversion of sinners, and any personal intentions the person praying may have.

Prayer Before The Rosary

Queen of the Holy Rosary,
you have designed to come to Fatima,
to reveal to the three shepherd children,
the treasures of grace hidden in the Rosary.

Inspire my heart with a sincere love of this devotion,
in order that by meditating on the Mysteries
of our Redemption which are recalled in it,
I may obtain peace for the world,
the conversion of sinners,
and the favor which I ask of you
in this Rosary …

I ask it for the greater glory of God,
for your own honor,
and for the good of souls,
especially for my own.
Amen.
