The “Queenship of Mary Novena” is a beautiful nine-day devotion honoring the Blessed Virgin Mary as Queen of Heaven and Earth. This novena is traditionally prayed in preparation for the Feast of the Queenship of Mary, celebrated on August 22nd, eight days after the Solemnity of the Assumption. However, this powerful prayer can be prayed at any time throughout the year when we seek Mary’s maternal intercession. Through this prayer, we acknowledge Our Lady’s royal dignity as the Mother of Christ the King, and we seek her powerful intercession in our times of need.
O Mary Immaculate Queen, look down upon this distressed and suffering world. You know our misery and our weakness. O thou who art our Mother, saving us in the hour of peril, have compassion on us in these days of great and heavy trial.
Jesus has confided to you the treasure of His grace, and through you He wills to grant us pardon and mercy. In these hours of anguish, therefore, your children come to you as their hope.
We recognize your Queenship and ardently desire your triumph. We need a Mother and a Mother’s Heart. You are for us the luminous dawn which dissipates our darkness and points out the way to life. In your clemency, obtain for us the courage and the confidence of which we have such need.
Most Holy and Adorable Trinity, You Who did crown with glory in Heaven the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of the Savior, grant that all her children on earth may acknowledge her as their Sovereign Queen, that all hearts, homes, and nations may recognize her rights as Mother and as Queen.
When a young Italian woman lay dying in 1884, abandoned by the most celebrated physicians of her time, something extraordinary happened that would change Catholic devotional life forever. What began as a desperate family’s last resort became a powerful spiritual practice that has touched hundreds of thousands of lives across nearly 150 years.

Nearly two months of prayer. Fifty-four consecutive days of turning to the Rosary with unwavering dedication. To many, this might seem daunting, even impossible in our fast-paced world. Yet for over 140 years, Catholics worldwide have discovered something extraordinary happens when they commit to this intensive devotion to Our Lady of Pompeii.
The Miraculous Origins
The 54-Day Rosary Novena traces its origins to a powerful apparition of Our Lady of Pompeii to a young Italian woman named Fortuna Agrelli in 1884. For thirteen months, Fortuna had endured dreadful sufferings from an incurable illness. The most celebrated physicians had given up hope, declaring her case hopeless.
On February 16, 1884, the afflicted girl and her family began a novena of Rosaries, desperately seeking Our Lady’s intercession. Their faithful prayers were answered in the most extraordinary way when the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to Fortuna on March 3, 1884.
In this miraculous apparition, Mary sat upon a high throne, profusely decorated with flowers, holding the Divine Child on her lap and a Rosary in her hand. Both the Virgin Mother and the holy Infant were clothed in gold-embroidered garments. They were accompanied by St. Dominic and St. Catherine of Siena, and the beauty of Our Lady was described as marvelous beyond words.
When Fortuna called upon Mary as “Queen of the Holy Rosary,” Our Lady responded with words that would echo through the centuries: “Child, thou has invoked me by various titles and hast always obtained favors from me. Now, since thou hast called me by that title so pleasing to me, ‘Queen of the Holy Rosary,’ I can no longer refuse the favor thou dost petition; for this name is most precious and dear to me.”
Our Lady then instructed Fortuna to make three novenas in petition. Later, the Queen of the Holy Rosary appeared again and revealed the complete structure of this powerful devotion: “Whoever desires to obtain favors from me should make three novenas of the prayers of the Rosary, and three novenas in thanksgiving.”
Obedient to Our Lady’s instruction, Fortuna and her family completed the six novenas, and the young girl was restored to perfect health, her family showered with many blessings.
Extraordinary Graces and Testimonies
Throughout the decades since its revelation, countless testimonies have emerged from those who have completed the 54-Day Rosary Novena. These accounts speak not only of answered prayers and material favors but, more importantly, of profound spiritual growth, increased faith, and deeper peace.
Many report that the most significant grace received was not the original intention they prayed for, but rather a transformation of heart, a deeper relationship with God, or the grace to accept His will with peace and joy. Others have experienced remarkable healings, both physical and spiritual, resolution of family difficulties, vocational clarity, and financial provisions.
The devotion has become particularly known for impossible cases or situations that appear hopeless, with Our Lady of Pompeii often invoked as the “Madonna of Impossible Cases” due to the remarkable interventions attributed to this novena.
Preparing for the Journey
Embarking on a 54-Day Rosary Novena requires genuine commitment and preparation. This is not a casual prayer practice but a serious spiritual undertaking that demands consistency and dedication.
Before beginning, it’s essential to clearly formulate your intention. This should be something significant that you genuinely desire God’s intervention upon, whether it concerns health, family, vocation, spiritual growth, or any other legitimate need.
It’s also important to approach the devotion with the right mindset. While we pray with confidence in God’s power and Mary’s intercession, we must also be prepared to accept whatever outcome God provides, trusting that His answerโwhether yes, no, or waitโis always given in love.
Keeping a prayer journal during the 54 days can be particularly beneficial. Recording thoughts, insights, and any signs of God’s action can provide encouragement during difficult days and serve as a testimony to God’s faithfulness upon completion.
A Testament to Faith
For those feeling called to undertake this profound spiritual journey, the 54-Day Rosary Novena offers an opportunity for deep growth in faith, hope, and love. Like Fortuna Agrelli in 1884, we too can experience the extraordinary graces that Our Lady of Pompeii promised to all who complete this devotion with sincere hearts.
Whether you approach this novena seeking healing, guidance, provision, or simply a deeper relationship with God, you can be confident that Mary will present your prayers to her Divine Son under her beloved title of Queen of the Holy Rosary, and that God will respond according to His perfect love and wisdom.

The “Novena to the Precious Blood” is a powerful nine-day devotional prayer that calls upon the redemptive power of Christ’s sacrificial blood shed for our salvation. This beautiful novena invites the faithful to approach Jesus with profound reverence and trust, kneeling spiritually at His bleeding feet to present their deepest needs and petitions.
Devotion to the Most Precious Blood of Jesus honors the blood He shed for the redemption of the world, poured out in the Garden of Gethsemane, during the Scourging, the Crowning with Thorns, and finally upon the Cross at Calvary. Each drop stands as a witness to His boundless love and mercy, the price paid for the salvation of every soul.
V. O God, come to my assistance. R. O Lord, make haste to help me.
V. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. R. As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
By the Voice of Thy Blood, O Jesus, I seek Thee, ask Thee, and beg Thee to help me at this time of my need.
O Jesus, I kneel at Thy bleeding feet, pleading that You will hear me. Many graces and many mercies have come from Thy Blood. My hope lives in You until the end of my time.
O Jesus, by Thy Precious Blood which You shed for our souls, by each drop that You shed for our redemption, and by the tears of Thy Immaculate Mother, I beseech Thee and earnestly ask You to listen to my prayer:
(Mention your request hereโฆ)
O Jesus, who during all the days of Thy mortal life, You consoled so many sufferers, You healed so many infirmities, You raised so often a sinking courage; have pity on my soul, who cries to Thee from the depths of my anguish.
O Jesus, from the wounds of Thy heart, may a wave of Thy merciful blood flow and grant to me the grace that I so ardently desire.
O Jesus, hasten the moment when You will change my tears to joy and my sighs to thanksgivings. Amen.
Let us pray:
Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
The “Novena for the Feast of the Visitation” is a nine-day prayer dedicated to honoring Mary’s charitable visit to her cousin Elizabeth. This special devotion invites us to meditate on the beautiful encounter between these two holy women and the miraculous presence of Jesus and John the Baptist, already moving within their mothers’ wombs.
The novena seeks Mary’s intercession for our personal intentions while contemplating her humility, joy, and selfless service. We ask Our Lady to visit our hearts as she visited Elizabeth โ bringing Jesus into our homes, filling us with the Holy Spirit, and obtaining for us the graces we need.
This novena is traditionally prayed beginning on May 22 and ending on May 30, the eve of the Feast of the Visitation.
Most Blessed Virgin Mary, who upon hearing the wondrous news of your divine motherhood, set out in haste to visit your cousin Elizabeth, we come before you today seeking your powerful intercession.
O Mother of God, during your Visitation, you carried the Son of God in your womb, bringing Christ physically to Elizabeth’s home. At the sound of your greeting, Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit, and the infant John leaped for joy in her womb, recognizing the presence of his Lord.
In that sacred moment, moved by the Holy Spirit, you proclaimed your Magnificat, praising God for His marvelous works and proclaiming His mercy from generation to generation. Your soul magnified the Lord, and your spirit rejoiced in God your Savior.
We ask you, dear Mother, to visit us as you visited Elizabeth. Bring Jesus to us and help us recognize His presence in our lives. Pray for the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts so that we, like John, might leap with joy at Christ’s coming. Inspire us to serve others with your same humility and love.
O humble Handmaid of the Lord, teach us to respond generously to God’s will, to journey in faith despite difficulties, to bring Christ to others through our words and actions, and to wait patiently and hopefully for the fulfillment of God’s promises.
Here we pause to present our special intentions for this novena…
Mary, Mother of God and our Mother, continue your visitation in the Church and in our world. Obtain healing for the sick, comfort for the sorrowful, hope for the discouraged, and peace for the troubled. Visit our families with your Son’s love and transform our hearts to more closely resemble your own Immaculate Heart.
We thank you for your maternal care and protection. Help us to proclaim with you that the Almighty has done great things for us, and holy is His Name.
Through your powerful intercession, may we receive the graces we seek during this novena, if they be in accordance with God’s will. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Pray one Our Father, three Hail Marys, and one Glory Be.
Theย Divine Mercy Novenaย is traditionally prayed starting on Good Friday and concluding on the Saturday after Easter (the eve ofย Divine Mercy Sunday); although it can be prayed any time of the year. This nine-day prayer devotion was revealed by Jesus to St. Faustina Kowalska, asking the faithful to immerse themselves in His infinite mercy. Each day of the novena focuses on a different group of souls to bring before the merciful heart of Jesus. The devotion ends on Divine Mercy Sunday, a feast established by Pope John Paul II in 2000, when special graces are promised to those who receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation and the Eucharist.
On the ninth and final day of the Divine Mercy Novena, we pray for the souls who have become lukewarm. Jesus asked St. Faustina to bring these indifferent souls to His mercy, expressing how they wound His heart most painfully. These souls, once full of fervor but now tepid in their faith, are in particular need of God’s compassion. The prayer for this day implores the Most Compassionate Jesus to draw them into the fire of His pure love, that their hearts might be rekindled with zeal for God. We ask that Divine Mercy transform their coldness into renewed dedication to the Lord.
Today bring to Me SOULS WHO HAVE BECOME LUKEWARM, and immerse them in the abyss of My mercy. These souls wound My Heart most painfully. My soul suffered the most dreadful loathing in the Garden of Olives because of lukewarm souls. They were the reason I cried out: โFather, take this cup away from Me, if it be Your will.โ For them, the last hope of salvation is to run to My mercy.
Most compassionate Jesus, You are Compassion Itself. I bring lukewarm souls into the abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart. In this fire of Your pure love, let these tepid souls, who, like corpses, filled You with such deep loathing, be once again set aflame. O Most Compassionate Jesus, exercise the omnipotence of Your mercy and draw them into the very ardor of Your love, and bestow upon them the gift of holy love, for nothing is beyond Your power.
Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze upon lukewarm souls who are nonetheless enfolded in the Most Compassionate Heart of Jesus. Father of Mercy, I beg You by the bitter Passion of Your Son and by His three-hour agony on the Cross: Let them, too, glorify the abyss of Your mercy. Amen.
On the eighth day of the Divine Mercy Novena, we pray for the souls in Purgatory. Jesus instructed St. Faustina to bring these souls to His mercy, that they might be refreshed by the fountain of His love. These souls, though assured of salvation, undergo purification before entering the fullness of heaven. The prayer for this day asks that the Blood and Water which flowed from Jesus’ heart extinguish the flames that purify these souls. We implore God’s mercy to bring them swiftly into the eternal light and joy of His presence.
Today bring to Me THE SOULS WHO ARE DETAINED IN PURGATORY, and immerse them in the abyss of My mercy. Let the torrents of My Blood cool down their scorching flames. All these souls are greatly loved by Me. They are making retribution to My justice. It is in your power to bring them relief. Draw all the indulgences from the treasury of My Church and offer them on their behalf. Oh, if you only knew the torments they suffer, you would continually offer for them the alms of the spirit and pay off their debt to My justice.
Most Merciful Jesus, You Yourself have said that You desire mercy; so I bring into the abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart the souls in Purgatory, souls who are very dear to You, and yet, who must make retribution to Your justice. May the streams of Blood and Water which gushed forth from Your Heart put out the flames of Purgatory, that there, too, the power of Your mercy may be celebrated.
Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze upon the souls suffering in Purgatory, who are enfolded in the Most Compassionate Heart of Jesus. I beg You, by the sorrowful Passion of Jesus Your Son, and by all the bitterness with which His most sacred Soul was flooded: Manifest Your mercy to the souls who are under Your just scrutiny. Look upon them in no other way but only through the Wounds of Jesus, Your dearly beloved Son; for we firmly believe that there is no limit to Your goodness and compassion. Amen.
On the seventh day of the Divine Mercy Novena, we pray for the souls who especially venerate and glorify Jesus’ mercy. Jesus asked St. Faustina to bring these souls to Him, noting how they reflect His compassionate heart. These souls find comfort in the depths of His mercy and spread this message to others. The prayer for this day asks that these devoted souls be blessed with God’s strength and protection, especially in their hour of death. We implore that those who honor Divine Mercy may continue to be living reflections of God’s love in the world.
Today bring to Me THE SOULS WHO ESPECIALLY VENERATE AND GLORIFY MY MERCY, and immerse them in My mercy. These souls sorrowed most over my Passion and entered most deeply into My spirit. They are living images of My Compassionate Heart. These souls will shine with a special brightness in the next life. Not one of them will go into the fire of hell. I shall particularly defend each one of them at the hour of death.
Most Merciful Jesus, whose Heart is Love Itself, receive into the abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart the souls of those who particularly extol and venerate the greatness of Your mercy. These souls are mighty with the very power of God Himself. In the midst of all afflictions and adversities they go forward, confident of Your mercy; and united to You, O Jesus, they carry all mankind on their shoulders. These souls will not be judged severely, but Your mercy will embrace them as they depart from this life.
Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze upon the souls who glorify and venerate Your greatest attribute, that of Your fathomless mercy, and who are enclosed in the Most Compassionate Heart of Jesus. These souls are a living Gospel; their hands are full of deeds of mercy, and their hearts, overflowing with joy, sing a canticle of mercy to You, O Most High!
I beg You O God: show them Your mercy according to the hope and trust they have placed in You. Let there be accomplished in them the promise of Jesus, who said to them that during their life, but especially at the hour of death, the souls who will venerate this fathomless mercy of His, He, Himself, will defend as His glory. Amen.
On the sixth day of the Divine Mercy Novena, we pray for the meek and humble souls and the souls of little children. Jesus directed St. Faustina to bring these innocent souls to His mercy, as they most closely resemble His heart. The prayer for this day acknowledges how these gentle souls hold a special place in God’s Kingdom. We ask that their childlike trust and simplicity be protected by divine mercy, and that all souls might be drawn to imitate their humble confidence in God’s love and providence.
Today bring to Me THE MEEK AND HUMBLE SOULS AND THE SOULS OF LITTLE CHILDREN, and immerse them in My mercy. These souls most closely resemble My Heart. They strengthened Me during My bitter agony. I saw them as earthly Angels, who will keep vigil at My altars. I pour out upon them whole torrents of grace. Only the humble soul is capable of receiving My grace. I favor humble souls with My confidence.
Most Merciful Jesus, You yourself have said, โLearn from Me for I am meek and humble of heart.โ Receive into the abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart all meek and humble souls and the souls of little children. These souls send all heaven into ecstasy and they are the heavenly Fatherโs favorites. They are a sweet-smelling bouquet before the throne of God; God Himself takes delight in their fragrance. These souls have a permanent abode in Your Most Compassionate Heart, O Jesus, and they unceasingly sing out a hymn of love and mercy.
Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze upon meek souls, upon humble souls, and upon little children who are enfolded in the abode which is the Most Compassionate Heart of Jesus. These souls bear the closest resemblance to Your Son. Their fragrance rises from the earth and reaches Your very throne. Father of mercy and of all goodness, I beg You by the love You bear these souls and by the delight You take in them: Bless the whole world, that all souls together may sing out the praises of Your mercy for endless ages. Amen.
On the fifth day of the Divine Mercy Novena, we pray for the souls of those who have separated themselves from the Church. Jesus asked St. Faustina to immerse these souls in the sea of His mercy. The prayer for this day asks for the grace of unity, that those who have strayed from the fullness of faith might be guided back to the Church. We pray that the light of truth would dispel darkness and confusion, and that God’s mercy would heal divisions, bringing all souls into communion with His mystical body.
Today bring to Me THE SOULS OF THOSE WHO HAVE SEPARATED THEMSELVES FROM MY CHURCH, and immerse them in the ocean of My mercy. During My bitter Passion they tore at My Body and Heart, that is, My Church. As they return to unity with the Church, My wounds heal and in this way they alleviate My Passion.
Most Merciful Jesus, Goodness Itself, You do not refuse light to those who seek it of You. Receive into the abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart the souls of those who have separated themselves from Your Church. Draw them by Your light into the unity of the Church, and do not let them escape from the abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart; but bring it about that they, too, come to glorify the generosity of Your mercy.
Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze upon the souls of those who have separated themselves from Your Sonโs Church, who have squandered Your blessings and misused Your graces by obstinately persisting in their errors. Do not look upon their errors, but upon the love of Your own Son and upon His bitter Passion, which He underwent for their sake, since they, too, are enclosed in His Most Compassionate Heart. Bring it about that they also may glorify Your great mercy for endless ages. Amen.
