St. Faustina

About St. Faustina

St. Faustina Kowalska was a Polish nun to whom Jesus appeared repeatedly in the 1930s, entrusting her with the message and mission of Divine Mercy. Born Helena Kowalska to a poor family in 1905, she entered the Congregation of Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy despite initial rejections and her own limited education. Through a series of visions of Jesus, she was given the mission to spread devotion to Divine Mercy, including the Divine Mercy image (showing Jesus with red and pale rays emanating from his heart), the Divine Mercy chaplet, and the Divine Mercy Sunday feast. She recorded her spiritual experiences in her diary, “Divine Mercy in My Soul,” which initially faced skepticism but later became a spiritual classic. Despite suffering from tuberculosis and numerous spiritual trials, including periods of darkness and doubts about her experiences, she maintained her trust in God’s mercy until her death in 1938 at age 33. Though her Divine Mercy devotion was temporarily suppressed by the Vatican, it was later approved and promoted by Pope John Paul II, who canonized her in 2000 and established Divine Mercy Sunday as a feast for the universal Church. Her message of God’s unfathomable mercy continues to inspire millions worldwide.

Prayer Video –St. Faustina’s Prayer for Priests

Heavenly Father, grant that our priests be strengthened and healed by the power of the Eucharist they celebrate. May the Word they proclaim give them courage and wisdom.

We pray that all those whom they seek to serve may see in them the love and care of Jesus, our Eternal High Priest, who is Lord for ever and ever. Amen.

Mary, Mother of the Church, look tenderly upon your sons, our priests.

St Joseph, Patron of the Universal Church, pray for us all.

O my Jesus, I beg You on behalf of the whole Church, grant it love and the light of Your Spirit and give power to the words of priests, so that hardened hearts might be brought to repentance and return to You, O Lord.

Lord, give us holy priests;  You Yourself maintain them in holiness.

O Divine and Great High Priest, may the power of Your mercy accompany them everywhere and protect them  from the devil’s snares which are continually being set for the souls of priests. May the power of Your mercy, O Lord, shatter and bring to naught all that might tarnish the sanctity of priests, for You can do all things.

Novena to St. Faustina

The “Novena to St. Faustina” is a prayer seeking the intercession of the beloved mystic and apostle of Divine Mercy, St. Faustina, asking Jesus to grant our petitions through her powerful advocacy. The prayer acknowledges our unworthiness due to sin while appealing to St. Faustina’s spirit of sacrifice and self-denial, asking that her virtue be rewarded through the granting of our requests. With childlike trust, we present our needs to Jesus through the intercession of this humble Polish nun who was filled with profound veneration for God’s boundless mercy and became the instrument through which Christ revealed His Divine Mercy devotion to the modern world.

Novena to St. Faustina

O Jesus, who filled Saint Faustina with profound veneration for Your boundless Mercy, deign, if it be Your holy will, to grant me, through her intercession, the grace for which I fervently pray… [make your request here].

My sins render me unworthy of Your Mercy, but be mindful of Saint Faustina’s spirit of sacrifice and self-denial, and reward her virtue by granting the petition which, with childlike trust, I present to You through her intercession.

Our Father…, Hail Mary…, Glory Be…

Saint Faustina, pray for us.
